Warren W. Carson
Warren W. Carson, 87, Sun City Center Fla., formerly Bergenfield, N.J., after several months of declining health, died peacefully April 18, 2021. Survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Carol, as well as his three children: Bill (Patty), Jayne (Dennis) and Dan (Monica); along with seven grandchildren: Brian, Jessica, Kevin, Scott, Matthew, Christopher and Erica. He loved them all. He was predeceased by his parents as well as his two older brothers and sister. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Warren was born in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, N.Y., and was very proud of his heritage and hometown. He was an Army Veteran as well as a longtime member of the Freemasons (New Jersey Lodge). He married his love Carol over 60 years ago and came across the bridge to New Jersey. Here they would raise their family in Bergen County. He was a US Postal worker, moving up to different titles as the years went on. Warren was very involved in numerous groups at South Presbyterian Church as well as serving as an Elder for many years.
After retirement, Warren and Carol headed south to Florida where they enjoyed many years of traveling and enjoying each day together, making many new friends along the way. Warren was greatly involved in the Sun City Center community and aided in many groups and programs. He was a huge New York Giants fan and would light up talking about them. There is no way to explain a life in a few paragraphs. He is so much more than what can be written here. Please remember the good times you experienced with him, and the best way to honor him is to pass on the stories of those times.
The family wishes to thank all that helped over the last year. Your time and compassion are greatly appreciated, and they can’t thank you enough. A special thanks to Ellen and for Dad…. he listened.
A memorial service is to be planned for a later date when people are able to come together and celebrate his life.
Rebecca Healy
Rebecca Westmoreland Parks Healy died, peacefully, at 92, on April 29, 2021, in Sun City Center, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy, and is survived by her five children: Anne Healy in Blackhawk, Colo.; Tim Healy in Tampa, Fla.; Sue Geers in Berkshire, N.Y.; Patty Houchen in Cincinnati, Ohio; and Carolyn Healy of Sun City Center, Fla; and her many grand- and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her longtime companion and best friend, Barbara Butler, in Sun City Center, Fla.
The daughter of Melmoth and Buda Parks, she was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. She remained there until she met her husband, Timothy Healy, who was in the Air Force. For many years the military would take them across the United States with their five children. After retiring from the military, the Healy family settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. They enjoyed bowling and were avid members of their new community. They retired to sunny skies and sandy shores in Sun City Center, Fla., in 1987.
After her husband passed away in 1990, Rebecca remained active in the SCC community through the Lapidary Club, library and her great love of music. She enjoyed the company of her friends and neighbors and spending time at the pool. The joy of her life, though, were her grand- and great-grandchildren. Each visit with them was more special than the last, and her home was filled with memories and photos of their times together. It was a life well lived.
Final arrangements are being made by the National Cremation and Burial Society, 308 College Ave. E, Ruskin, FL. 33570.
Peter Xavier Robinson
Peter Xavier Robinson was born at home on September 19, 1940, in Central Falls, R.I., to Thomas Frances Robinson and Leona Malvinia Robinson, (formerly DesChamps), the fifth of nine children. Peter X. embraced every day, and then on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, died peacefully, with his wife by his side.
On August 26, 1962, Pete met Carolyn Ann Cuttle when he asked her to dance, and they’ve been dancing ever since. After he was drafted into the US Army, they married on Dec. 26, 1964, the day after Christmas. When he was released from the Army, he completed his education at Providence College in R.I., and pursued his interest in classic cars.
Later, with four young children, they moved from Rhode Island to Woodbridge, Va., and Pete began his civilian career with the US Government in the Dept. of Agriculture in Washington, D.C.; followed by the Dept. of Defense in Fort Monmouth, N.J.; and, finally, at MacDill Air Force Base in 1995.
In 2001, Peter retired from his role as Strategic Communications and Plans officer, and Pete and Carolyn immediately hit the road to travel full-time in their RV until 2005 when they planted their roots in Sun City Center, Fla. From there, they continued to explore the world by boat, plane and RV.
Peter also volunteered for 10 years with the SCC Emergency Squad and served as First Responder, captain and, of course, as ambulance driver!
Pete loved to play with words and was proud of his occasional literary contributions to local papers and The Irish Times. He brought warmth, insight and humor into his work and into the lives of others. Peter X. Robinson was forgiving, loving, generous and humble.
Peter blessed the lives of many friends and family, including his wife of 56 years, Carolyn; children: Dennis, Vincent and Phaedra; grandchildren: John, Vincent, Audrey, Robert, Matthew; his two sisters, MarieAnn Strauss and Leona Blackwell; his brother-in-law, Arthur Strauss; sister-in-law, Rita Claire Robinson; and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his daughter Crystal; his parents, Thomas and Leona; and his siblings: Madeleine, Marguerite, Thomas, Leo, Stephen and John; and his niece Stephanie.
A service to celebrate his life will be held in Sun City Center at Redeemer Lutheran Church on May 15 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. All health precautions will be followed.
