Hindsight is 20/20
At long last. 2020 is over. Finally. When I bought my new year’s 2020 novelty glasses last year, it was so exciting. 2020 – perfect vision for our year ahead. So much hope.
Then March hit, and all I could think of was hindsight is 20/20. And we saw a lot last year: and not exactly what we wanted, what we needed nor what we expected.
But I have to tell you, I’ve been watching you and listening to you all year long. By you, I mean our residents and our chamber members. And you have amazed me. You’ve been strong, you’ve remained positive and you’ve adapted to the challenges that have been thrown our way. You’ve shown your caring spirit to those around you. You have been the solution – not the problem. And you’ve done all this with a backdrop of your own series of issues.
So, facing all this, what did you do? You brought gifts to the chamber for two separate toy drives. You turned a COVID Christmas into a Merry Christmas for our kids in need. Then you turned around and helped our seniors in Nursing Homes turn a lonely holiday into a joyous celebration with your generous donations. Unselfishly. You did all that. And for that, I say, “Thank you.”
So, looking forward to 2021. I believe we need to look ahead in a positive fashion. It’s going to be fine. We’re going to be fine. Maybe not always great…but fine. I don’t think it matters whether you’re a glass half full or half empty person. We did make it through 2020. Through everything. And we’ll do it again this year.
I am humbled that you have accepted me as part of this great community and have granted me the opportunity to serve our business community as part of the South Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce. I promise you I will continue to do anything I can to be of assistance as we move toward all that 2021 has to offer. Never hesitate to get in touch with me for whatever you need. While I don’t have all the answers, I do have great resources. Just remember, we’re better together.
