Raymond J. Barger
Raymond J. Barger, 85, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away at home on November 20, 2020. Ray was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Lawrence and Hilda (Lippa) Barger on Sept. 2, 1935. He grew up and attended school in Baltimore. After high school Ray trained to become an electrician and, later, became a general foreman at Enterprise Electric Co. (Local 24) before retiring in 1997. Ray enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, contagious laughter and kind heartiness.
Ray is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 25 years, Raylene Barger; daughter, Karen Miller (Michael); daughter-in-law, Laurie Barger; stepsons: Joel Dominey (Melanie), Jeffery Dominey and Jason Dominey; stepdaughters, Julie Cinotti (James) and Jody Donaldson (Michael); sisters, Lorraine Brown (Richard) and Phyllis Johnson (Donald); brother, Lawrence Barger (Carol); brother-in-law, Jerome Barrett; grandchildren: Jennifer Isles (Justin), Kacey Abbott (Ryan), Tyler Cinotti, Allison Miller, Danielle Barger, Kirsten Cinotti, Jillian Donaldson and Brooks Donaldson; and great-grandson, River Cinotti. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Hilda Barger; first wife of 34 years, Joan Barger; son, Steven Barger; and sister, Lois Barrett.

Robert C. Cates
Robert Caston Cates (Bob) of St. Pete Beach, Fla., formerly of Apollo Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family November 13, 2020, at the age of 79 years after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 1941 in Crenshaw, Miss.
Bob was a remarkable man who never met a stranger. His love of life and sense of humor were contagious. He always had a silly joke or song for you whenever you met. Bob had friends from every walk of life and his love for them and his family was immeasurable. Also known as Barbecue Bob, his passion was grilling specialties, such as ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket. He shared the love of barbecue with many friends throughout the years. Bob was also a skilled craftsman whose specialty was designing and installing kitchens and baths. He was a perfectionist and was greatly admired for his workmanship.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ora Cates; siblings: Alfred Cates, Ruben Cates, Mary Vanlandingham, Brenda Owen; and mother-in-law, Helen Strickland. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Denise Cates; father-in-law, Merle Strickland; sister, Ann Dodds (Doug); children: Jesseca Allen (Tommy), Christopher Cates, Melissa Cates, Kimberly Wilson (Jeff), Lisa Rice (Phil), Jimmy Gambill (Regina), Shelli Brasher (Tom); 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bob was eagerly awaiting the birth of his 13th grandchild in January 2021.
Bob’s memorial service is December 13, 2020, 2 p.m. outdoors, at Simmons Loop Baptist Church in Riverview, Fla. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
Lennard M. DeDario Jr.
Len DeDario Jr., a resident of Kings Point, died peacefully in his sleep on November 20, 2020. Len was born June 26, 1942, and was raised in Elkhart, Ind., where he met his beloved wife, Diane. They would spend the next 58 loving years together.
Len served our country in the Marine Corps and went on to graduate from Indiana University. He then became a great leader in his operational management career and retired from Caterpillar.
Len was an active member of his community and shared his many talents through AARP tax preparation, neighborhood board leadership roles, eucharistic ministry at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and many other volunteer activities. He also made many memories and met many friends while traveling extensively with his family.
Most dear to his heart was his family. Len is survived by wife Diane; two sons, Darren and Damon (Danielle); two grand-dogs, Kaya and Kingston; a step-granddaughter, Serena; and a special aunt, Marge. Len has four surviving siblings and their families: Vince, Kenneth, Jarlith and Leanne. Len is predeceased by his parents, a brother and a sister-in-law.
A service will be held at a future date.
Chad M. McClellan
Chad Matthew McClellan, 31, of Ruskin, Fla., passed away November 23, 2020. Matt was born August 31, 1989, in Indianapolis, Ind., and grew up in the central Indiana area. He attended Hamilton Heights High School in Cicero, Ind., and was a lifelong scholar at the University of Hard Knocks. Matt moved to Florida in 2016.
Matt is preceded in death by his youngest brother, Steven, and is survived by his grandmother, Ernestine McClellan; father, Chad Darus McClellan; younger brother, Michael McClellan; uncle, Chris McClellan; and brothers/sisters in-heart: Cole Tickle, Allison and Lindsay Milam, and Kristin and Kaitlin Pettigrew, and many other beloved family members and friends. Matt was never married and had no children.
Matt lived a wild, adventurous rock-n-roll lifestyle full of trouble and fun, but he also enjoyed the quiet times to relax and enjoy life.
He was an industrious entrepreneur, avid online gamer, poker player, hustler, skateboarder, fighter and cook, and he enjoyed the beach and being on the water. He was a good friend to those who knew him. Matt was a wonderful son and dearly loved brother who was full of life and potential. Matt will be deeply missed and always loved and remembered.
