The GFWC Ruskin Woman’s Club is “making a list and checking it twice” for Breakfast with Santa Dec. 14.
Fresh from the North Pole, the Jolly Old Soul and Mrs. Claus will pass out candy, chat with your kids or grandkids and be on hand at two breakfast seatings: one at 8:30 and the other at 10:30 a.m. The festive event will include breakfast, arts & crafts, carolers and some awesome raffles, said organizer Cheryl DeLeon, club president.
“We’ll be raffling off a Tampa Bay Lightning package at each seating,” she said. “Each will include admission for two, box seats and all you can eat and drink.”
Also up for grabs will be a $250 Gold & Diamond Source gift certificate; a two-night stay at the Sheraton Sand Key, Clearwater Beach; gift certificates to Top Golf, Apollo Meats, Beanie’s and assorted area restaurants, plus gift baskets from local businesses with some great children’s gifts, DeLeon said.
Additionally, one lucky person could walk away with some Christmas cash by winning a 50/50 raffle held to benefit Operation Smile.
Lennard High School drama and chorus students will perform, as will local singing talent Angelica Brevard.
Breakfast will include eggs, waffles and sausage donated by the Sheraton Marriott and prepared by Chef Neal Bostic, all kinds of toppings, hot cocoa or coffee.
Admission is $15 for one parent and child and $5 for each additional child or person. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
An RSVP by Dec. 7 is required for either seating. For tickets, call DeLeon at 813-846-1776 or visit https://bws-session2.eventbrite.com or www.gfwcrwc.org.
“Breakfast with Santa is all about celebrating a traditional Christmas with Santa and Mrs. Claus and having fun with your children or grandchildren,” DeLeon said. “Everyone will have a wonderful time.”
Breakfast with Santa is a fundraiser for the Ruskin Woman’s Club Scholarship Fund, which helps graduating seniors at East Bay and Lennard high schools go to college or technical school or adult women continue their educations. Last year, between this event, the annual Christmas Tea, a spring fashion show and the sale of homemade pickles, jams and jellies, the club awarded $8,000 in scholarships.
Breakfast with Santa will take place at the GFWC Ruskin Woman’s Club historic clubhouse, 503 U.S. 41 S., Ruskin. Members will have it beautifully decorated for Christmas.
