This will be a “November to Remember” at the Sun City Center Area Chamber of Commerce. But first, we need to complete our last two events in October.
Let’ s get started with Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. That’s the Sun City Center Area Chamber of Commerce’s weekly high-speed networking group — The Exchange. It’s open to members and nonmembers alike. Be sure to bring a bag lunch — which I always forget — and plenty of business cards to share.
As you know, Thursday is Halloween. At the chamber, we plan to celebrate. Why not? Come dressed in your Halloween best between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to trick or treat for candy and cookies. We think you’ll have a spooktacularly good time.
And now we’re on to that November to Remember. Friday, Nov. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. is the season’s first Golf Cart Poker Run. As always, we will start and end at the chamber. Golf cart folks, please RSVP to give us a headcount by calling 813-634-5111. Top three poker hands win prizes.
Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 8 to 9 a.m. at the chamber is our monthly coffee. Our hosts will be the Campaign Against Human Trafficking – South Shore. Members should stop by on their way to work to learn how this nonprofit is impacting our area.
The third Thursday of the month is usually our Monthly Luncheon. However, we’re changing things up this month. Instead of getting together that Thursday, we’re asking you to instead join us the following Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at our first ever Pet Expo. We’re bringing the expo to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church on 1239 W. Del Webb Blvd. We’re working together with the church to showcase everything pet related, from education to products and services for all creatures great and small. Your fur babies are welcomed but must be leashed or contained. There will also be a pet blessing, photos and contests. You’ll definitely get your pet fix! Admission is $5 – children under 12 are admitted free. Anybody out there in the pet world want to become a vendor? Give me a call at 813-634-5111
The fourth Thursday of the month is usually our night for Business After Hours. However, in November, that Thursday is also Thanksgiving. We’re betting you’d rather be at home finishing off the last of the pecan pie and watching football than joining us. That’s okay. We’ll see you next month.
Keep in mind the chamber will be closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Nov. 28 and 29 for Thanksgiving.
Please join us for our “November To Remember.” Looking ahead, nothing really rhymes with December except ”remember.” So, we may take that route again next month. I am sure we’ll have more chills and thrills coming your way.
