is a must-attend event

Eighty business and 14 nonprofit members of the Sun City Center Area Chamber of Commerce will greet thousands of residents during the 2019 Fall Business Expo Oct. 3. Hosted by the chamber, the free event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community Hall, 1910 Pebble Beach Blvd. S. “This is the most vendors we’ve ever had,” said Lynne Conlan, the chamber’s executive director. “We’re filled to capacity and actually have a waiting list in case someone drops out.”
Owners and representatives of every organization will hand out treats and information, and some will even give away prizes or food. As always, the Kiwanis Club will be on hand to sell hot dogs, chips and beverages, and Debbie Caneen, of Sun Towers, will give away Chef Jerry Badders’ incredible brownies. There also will be plenty of door prizes.
WSCQ Sun Radio 96.3 FM will be broadcasting live during the expo and hosting a drawing for at least one gift basket. The winner will be announced the next day on the Morning Show with Peter.
This year’s event will feature worldwide wrestling greats Brian Blair and Jerry Brisco. Blair is known for his appearances with the Wrestling Federation of America as part of the Killer Bees tag team. In 2015, he was unanimously voted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. Brisco wrestled professionally for decades with his brother Jack in the Brisco Brothers tag team. In 2008, he was inducted into the World Wrestling Federation Hall of Fame.
Additionally, Cody Byrns, motivational speaker and author of “Scar Release: Breaking Free of Yesterday’s Troubles,” and Kristen Hare, Poynter Institute reporter and author of “100 Things to Do Before You Die,” will be on hand.
Plenty of new vendors will be in the mix this time, including Clean N Green Roof Cleaning, Our Butterfly Garden Assisted Living, A Peace of Mind Planning, Maguire Services, Ocean-Aire Conditioning, Latitudes Apollo, Expedia Cruise Ship Centers, Roll Shield/Bath Wizard and Sleep Number Brandon.
Of course, plenty of your favorites will also return, including The Observer News, John Moore Flooring, Wolf Elder Law, Lavender and Lace Boutique, Tampa Bay Family Physicians, NextStage Moving Services and Payant Wealth Management, plus nonprofit groups like C.A.R.E., St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, The Pelican Players, Salvation Army and the GFWC Ruskin Woman’s Club.
And there’s more.
The Sun City Center Emergency Squad will provide free blood pressure checks, and Watson Clinic Dermatology is offering free skin cancer screenings. You can also get your vision checked in the Eye Associates’ Mobile Eye Clinic.
“This is your chance to talk one-on-one with area business owners to learn more about what they offer,” Conlan said. “This is a must-attend event, our biggest event of the year. And admission is free.”
