Ceremonies later in May at Florida fairgrounds

Lennard High School in Ruskin anticipates graduating 746 students later this month, topping all South Shore and Hillsborough County public schools in numbers of diplomas awarded for 2018-19. Riverview High School is third in graduation numbers, with 620 seniors expected to receive diplomas. East Bay has 585 set to don the caps and gowns, with Spoto close behind at 480 graduating seniors. The South County Career Center also anticipates awarding 77 diplomas to round out the South Shore public schools commencements.
The school year is rapidly coming to a close and with it, their high school careers will end for approximately 14,000 graduates from Hillsborough public schools. Thirty-six different graduation ceremonies are set for the graduation
season, with most of the ceremonies at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The Hillsborough County School District set another all-time graduation rate record of 85.8 percent, pushing towards its goal of a 90 percent graduation rate by the year 2020.

• Riverview High: Principal Danielle Shotwell. Anticipated graduates: 620. Graduation: May 28, 4 p.m. at Florida State Fairgrounds. Valedictorian: Kristina Porter, Salutatorian: Andrew Hutchinson, Class President: Ginamarie Rescigno.
• East Bay High: Principal Maria Gsell. Anticipated graduates: 585. Graduation: May 31, 12:30 p.m. at Florida State Fairgrounds. Valedictorian: Dillon Rodriguez, Salutatorian: Haleigh Roberts, Class President: Demetra Johnson.
• Spoto High School: Principal Dr. Jazrick Haggins. Anticipated graduates: 480. Graduation: May 29, 8 p.m. at Florida State Fairgrounds. Valedictorian: Maria Guiterrez, Salutatorian: Kyle Cwik, Class President: Samantha Torres.
• South County Career Center: Principal Jennifer Davis. Anticipated graduates: 70. Graduation, May 24, 1 p.m. at Florida State Fairgrounds.
