The district-winning Longhorns open one-and-done playoffs after closing their regular season with two road games. The first playoff game is set for May 7 against Brandon at 5 p.m. at Tampa Bay Tech. The winner advances to a May 9 game at TBT against the winner of Armwood and Braden River.

Now, the Longhorns, reportedly, face Brandon (after press time) on April 30 in the first round of the playoffs. The Longhorns completed the regular season tied for first place with Braden River in District 9.

Lennard fell in a non-district loss to Plant City, 8-1, as Raiders’ Parker Messick threw a two-hitter, struck out 17 Longhorns, and hit a home run. Plant City, 20-2 overall, and winners of District 6 at 7-1, enters playoffs in a separate bracket but could face Longhorns again if both keep winning in post-season.
