Groups join together to provide gifts, food and bicycles to Wimauma residents
Three Hillsborough County organizations came together Saturday in Wimauma to make Christmas happy for families and youngsters in the Wimauma area.
Joining forces in the spirit of Christmas at the Bethune Recreation Center were the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the Wimauma Boys & Girls Club, and the Multi-Cultural Heritage Club (MCHC) of Sun City Center. Food bags and children’s toys were provided to youngsters and families during the morning. Also, 12 bicycles were presented to children ages 6 through 15 from the MCHC based on recommendations from the Boys & Girls Club.
The MCHC, formed in March 2017, now has about 60 members and is dedicated to the effort of inspiring its members to extend fellowship and support to each other through social and cultural activities. The club’s leaders and members take tremendous pride in preserving and promoting the richness of the multicultural heritage of Sun City Center’s residents.
The MCHC welcomes Sun City Center residents to join in creating a society where a greater understanding and awareness among groups exist. The club meets on the second Friday of each month from noon until 2 p.m. in the Caper Room located in the Atrium Building at 945-A N. Course Lane. President of the MCHC is Vicente Lopez, Jr.
