Riverview fundraiser for Sylvia Thomas Center to feature Hypnotic Engagements
A fundraiser for local organization that helps adoptive children and families will feature a special hypnosis comedy show.
The Hypnotic Engagements stage show is part of Gems & Jeans fundraiser for the Sylvia Thomas Center from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at The Barn at Winthrop, 11349 Bloomingdale Ave., Riverview.
The evening will feature food, drinks, a silent auction and live entertainment with all attendees entered in a jewelry raffle. Tickets are $40 for a single ticket or $75 for couples. You can pay over the phone with or in person and tickets can also be purchased online at Eventbrite – there’s a link on the Sylvia Thomas Center Facebook page.

Founded in 2000 in honor of Sylvia Thomas, a champion for adoptive and foster families, the nonprofit center is focuses on serving the needs of adoptive and foster families in Hillsborough County. The group has touched the lives of more than 6,000 children and their families in that time.
“For 15 years, we have been making a difference in helping adoptive families stay together by working through issues and solving behavior problems. This includes a focus on providing badly needed support and counseling to children effected by abuse, abandonment and neglect,” according to the group’s website.
