Great Clips Mohawk Warrior visits school
On Wednesday, Aug. 15, Monster Jam driver, Bryce Kenny, visited Palmetto Elementary School in his 1,500-horsepower monster truck, Great Clips Mohawk Warrior, to deliver $5,000 worth of school supplies. The backpacks, notebooks, crayons, and other school supplies were donated by hair salon brand, Great Clips, and Palmetto-based Feld Entertainment, owner of the Monster Jam productions. Kenny told 600 students gathered in front of the school at 1540 10th St. W., to follow their dreams, just as he did. “When I was your age and people would ask what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would say race car driver,” the Kernersville, N.C., native said. Palmetto Elementary School Principal Michelle Mealor, along with the Tiger Cub school mascot, greeted Kenny with the students.
