SCC Metaphysical Society’s event draws crowd despite weather

Despite Saturday’s inclement weather, a steady stream of area residents turned out for the Sun City Center Metaphysical Society’s New Age Fair. The event, which was held at the SCC Area Chamber of Commerce, included 28 vendors and readers who sold items like crystal bonsai trees, intention candles, gemstones and sage, and services like card, aura and palmistry readings.

“Even though it rained most of the day, all of the vendors and readers went home happy,” said event chairwoman Vicky Sand. “More and more people are becoming interested in their spirituality and learning about who they really are. We are all about love and spiritual growth.”  

The Sun City Center Metaphysical Society has been in the community since the 1980s. Its current membership is 120.
