Snorkeling Part 2: Seagrass Surveys

Join others for part 2 of the summer home-school biology lab series where you will conduct a snorkel survey of the seagrass beds of Emerson Point Preserve.
In the June program, students learned proper surveying techniques that you will put to use this month. During this lab, you will learn the basics of snorkeling and combine these skills to conduct snorkel seagrass surveys.
Bring shoes and clothes that can get wet, a towel and a change of clothes. The program is recommended for students 11 years and older. Reservations are required by emailing amy.may@mymanatee.org or calling 941-742-5923, ext. 6044. There is a $10 fee per student, payable by cash only.
Emerson Point Preserve is at 5801 17th St. W. in Palmetto.
