Spiritual readers, numerologists, palm readers and intuitives will be among 24 vendors offering their products and services at the Sun City Center Metaphysical Society’s New Age Fair Nov. 18.
“We’re proud to be hosting these events because they bring greater awareness that everyone and everything is an expression of Universal Oneness,” said Vickie Sand, Metaphysical Fair coordinator. “It’s about bringing love and light into the world.”
This year’s event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the newly remodeled Sun City Center Area Chamber of Commerce events hall, 1651 Sun City Center Plaza. It will include purveyors of crystals, gemstones, singing bowls, intention candles and jewelry; authors; acupuncturists; reflexologists and more. The day will be dedicated to all things beyond the five senses, and admission is free.
New vendors include author Penny Fletcher, jewelry-maker Diane King, clairvoyant reader MaryLou Houllis, rune reader Helen Hajjar; and author Diane Marshall, who also does spirit portraits.
You don’t have to believe in metaphysical concepts to benefit from the event. There’s generally something for people of all interests.
“People either come for the readers or to shop for holiday gift items,” Sand said. “We have vendors from all over Central Florida. Everyone is welcome.”
Minister intern Denise Madigan, of All Paths to God Church, agrees.
“There are really great merchandise and uplifting messages from all kinds of readers and healers,” she said. “Whatever you’re looking for, it’s all under one roof.”
Originally called the Whole Life Expo and later the Metaphysical Society Expo, the annual event was renamed the New Age Fair in March 2016, when its location was moved from Community Hall to the chamber. Now held every March, August and November, each fair draws hundreds of visitors.
The society itself was founded in 1992. The nonprofit group meets at 10 a.m. Wednesdays in the Heritage Room at the Sun City Center Atrium. It currently is comprised of about 120 members, many who moved to the community because the group is here, Sand said.
Each meeting features a speaker presenting topics like alternative medicine, near-death experiences, spiritual growth, reincarnation, self-help and more. Nonmembers pay $1 admission; membership is $10 per year.
