Executive Director, Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce
Do you know the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce has a community resource guide? To celebrate the chamber’s 50th year serving the Riverview area, the chamber created and printed our first one in 2016. Many hours of research, interviews, photography and community outreach was completed to gather all its information. It truly was a labor of love. This guide is available online at www.RiverviewChamber.com and, while supplies last, in print. Its printing was made possible by local businesses that purchased advertisements, and their support is greatly appreciated. We’re proud to have this well-done publication provide visitors or those moving into our area important information about the community.
The photo on the front cover of this guide was taken from the dock of the Riverview Civic Center at 11020 Park Drive, Riverview. If you’re not familiar with this place, we encourage you to stop by the quaint, nine-acre park. The park and civic center overlook the Alafia River and is available to rent through Hillsborough County. It has an outside covered pavilion with barbecue grills, a boat ramp, dock, canoe/kayak launch and picnic shelters. For more information, visit www.HillsboroughCounty.org or call 813-744-5595.
Many local businesses and residents have already expressed appreciation for this guide and the information it includes.
If there are details, stories or any other helpful information we may have missed, please let us know — things like additional local places to enjoy, community resources, established annual local events, places to connect with nature and so forth.
In this guide, we’ve included a section called “By the Numbers.” We encourage you to review it and contact the chamber if you have additional interesting facts about our area.
There is also a section for important phone numbers, and we suspect there may be some missing. Let us know any that are important to you.
Our printed supply of 25,000 copies of this community guide is quickly dwindling. We hope to update and possibly print a revised version in 2018. We’re asking the community for assistance to help us to gather additional historical facts and photos. If you or someone you know has such information specifically about Riverview or historical photos taken in the greater Riverview area, we sure would like to hear from you.
Stop by the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce office at 10012 Water Works Lane, Riverview, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. You can also call 813-234-5944 or email director@riverviewchamber.com.
