In the July 20, 2017 column “Fish Tales,” the columnist referred to scalloping in Longboat Pass. The reports she relied on regarding boats collecting scallops in the pass were erroneous. Collecting scallops is illegal south of the Hernando / Pasco County line. No scalloping is allowed in Longboat Pass, nor in any waters in the vicinity. The Observer News sincerely regrets and apologizes for the error.
