Apollo Beach water tower to get face lift
The water tower on U.S. 41 in Apollo Beach is getting a much needed facelift.
Local Artist Michael Parker has been selected to lead the new design. In the coming months, Parker and the SouthShore Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a series of public workshops aimed at forming a design that represents the unique community. This is an exciting opportunity to come together and increase the power of one of the local landmarks.
There will be multiple ways that you can participate in the design process. If you cannot attend the workshops, there will be an online survey to accept your ideas and input. They will also have social media outlets available for updates and conversation threads.
As you all know the South Shore area is growing rapidly. They would like the new art for the water tower to reflect the community and become something that the community can be proud of. They are encouraging participation from all South Shore residents.
They will be announcing the workshop and participation dates very soon.
Art for the South Shore Water Tower is provided by The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners through their Public Art Program.
