Annual Holiday Golf Cart Parade a fun, festive event
Hundreds of people lined the streets surrounding Community Hall Dec. 10 to share in an early bit of Christmas revelry. They were there to view the Community Association’s annual Holiday Golf Cart Parade, which included about 50 brightly decorated entries this year.
Minto Communities donated $3,000 in prize money to be awarded to the most creative among them, as determined by a preselected panel of judges.
They were as follows:
In the Individual category, the winners were (from first through fifth place) Theresa Zimmerman, Les and Susan Raba, Elaine Mix, Mike and Suzzie Keltz and Todd and Belle Wizelman.
The Group category winners (from first through third place) included The Irish Connection, Sun City Center Cloggers and Club Renaissance. And Minto Communities took the lone prize in the Business category.
“It’s a fun thing to do this time of year, and the chilly weather made it more Christmassy. Everyone put a lot of work into decorating their carts. It was great.”
