Apollo Beach business offers variety of items, craft workshops
Looking for something crafty to do this summer? Look no further than Apollo Beach at the South Shore Shabby Shack & Market Place at 118-A Flamingo Drive.
Along with its unique array of furniture, vintage clothing, home decor and gift items, it now offers workshops for a variety of different crafts.
Shabby Shack is owned by home-grown, Florida natives Dallas and Jill Smith. Their shop is a combination of old and rusty, junky to funky, antique to boutique. Several artisans and collectors have their own areas within the shop to display and sell anything from native, local honey to jewelry to handmade soaps.
Scheduled for July are workshops for a garden monogram and serving tray, along with a Pint Size Picasso class for kids.
In August, there will be an afternoon tea hosted by Shawn Geitner of Beleave Teas. Geitner will share her expertise on different teas and the art of pairing them. The cost is $24 per person and must be paid in advance with reservations.
