Friends of the SouthShore Regional Library will once again kick off the holiday season by hosting the Festival of Trees and Jingle Jamboree, which will culminate on Saturday, Dec. 12, with a community pancake breakfast.
The public is invited to view and silently bid on decorated trees now through Dec. 12. Individuals and companies have donated themed, fully decorated trees or have contributed $150 for designers to do all the work. Each tree is numbered and will go to the highest bidder.
The festivities begin with a community pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. A donation of $5 per person is appreciated. After breakfast, the Jingle Jamboree will begin with story time, a visit from Santa, Jingle Mouse and carnival games. At 1:30 p.m., the bidding will close on the decorated trees and the winning bidders will be announced.
At press time, community donors were: Beef ‘O’ Brady’s (Ruskin), The Eye Associates, Cypress Creek Golf Club, Pearson Associates, Larry Brooks, Miller Florida Homes, H&R Block, Lynn Kessell, Ruskin Woman’s Club, Harriet’s Flowers, M&M Printing Co., SouthShore Sewing Group, The Home Depot and C.A.R.E.
The library is at 15816 Beth Shields Way in Ruskin.
All proceeds from the event go to the Friends of the SouthShore Regional Library, a nonprofit group.
