Two Thursdays ago was a magical evening for members of the Caloosa Trace Property Owners Association in Sun City Center.  They were entertained by local magician and mentalist, Ed Feder. This was the second time that the HOA retained Feder.

According to Marion Giblin, president of the POA, “Ed did a great job last year.  Everybody liked him. Our group was thoroughly entertained, so we asked him back.”

Feder performed for 45 minutes. He focused on mental illusions, including mind reading and predictions. His program was highly interactive, with many audience members taking part in the show from their seats and on the platform.

Feder began by handing a sealed envelope containing a list of numbers to a Caloosa Trace guest. Four members of the audience then created a six-digit number. When the envelope was opened, it was found it contained a series of numbers that added up exactly to the audience’s chosen total.

Then Feder correctly predicted a specific page of the The SCC Observer and a particular word on that page that would be chosen by several of the guests.

Later, a husband and wife each thought of famous places in the world without revealing them to the audience or even to each other. Feder was able to intuit their thoughts.

In another effect, he demonstrated the possibility of influencing another person’s choices while selecting colors for a line drawing.

By the end of his performance, Feder turned a roomful of arms-folded skeptics into intrigued believers.
