Dear Editor,
The SCC Security Patrol’s recent three-day Golf Cart Registration was a huge success! We wish to thank the SCC community for their support and to those who came out to have their golf carts registered. The Security Patrol broke golf cart registration history records for this event by having the most golf carts registered overall (700+), most golf carts per day (200+), most monetary donations received, and most Kings Point owner registrations (80 percent). Our goal is to have every golf cart owner within Sun City Center registered with the Patrol so we can locate your cart if it is stolen or missing.
Our Golf Cart Registration was successful due to the efforts of The SCC Observer, HCSO Deputy Jeffrey Merry, Debbie Caneen from Sun Towers, Dana Dittmar from the SCC Chamber of Commerce, Redeemer Lutheran Church, SCC Community Association, Kings Point Security Department, and Kings Point Federation.
Our Security Patrol members always step up when called upon to provide services within our community. Because of these Patrol volunteers, we were able to run a smooth operation. Our sincere gratitude is conveyed to Captain Don Vicha, Assistant Chief Fred Fiedler, co-chairs of the event; Assistant Chief Mike Trefren, who acquired Redeemer Lutheran Church; our numerous Assistant Chiefs, Captains, Deputy Captains, Drivers, and Dispatchers who volunteered all three days registering golf carts in 90-degree heat. This is what being a Patrol member is all about, helping our fellow neighbors. Thank you to all Patrol members who volunteered for this event.
Our next three-day golf cart registration will be held in December or January at SCC Community Hall on S. Pebble Beach Blvd. All residents of SCC, KP, Aston Gardens, and Freedom Plaza are encouraged to have their golf cart registered. If you would like to be a part of giving back to our community, please consider joining the Security Patrol.
All residents of SCC, Kings Point, Aston Gardens, and Freedom Plaza are welcome to join us. If you have three or more hours to spare monthly to drive or dispatch, please stop in to the SCC Security Patrol Office, 1005 N. Pebble Beach Blvd. and fill out an application. We would be delighted to have you join us.
Karen Ryan
Chief of SCC Security Patrol
