Lois D. Arnold
Lois D. Arnold, 87, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away August 20, 2015. She was a member of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, long-time volunteer at South Bay Hospital and a lawn bowler.
Her survivors include daughter Valerie Arnold Bryant; son Michael Arnold; brother Willard Davis; grandchildren Kelley Lyons and Colin Bryant; and great-grandchildren Michelle Lyons, and Haily, Christian and Rebekah Bryant.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Sun City Center, with burial at Bushnell National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 1015 E. Del Webb Blvd., in Sun City Center.

Shirley M. Craven
Shirley Mae Craven died at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Fla., on April 23, 2015, due to complications from cancer.
Shirley lived and worked in Ruskin for nearly 40 years. Shirley’s family was very important to her.
Shirley is survived by son Roy L. Rafield Jr. and daughter-in-law Martha C. Rafield; grandchildren Roy L. Rafield III, Daniel J. Rafield and Brandi R. Rafield; great-grandchildren Mia M. Rafield, Audrey K. Romano, Paisley M. Rafield and Parker D. Rafield; sisters Helen J. Hill, Naomi C. Keith, Jean M. Wilson, Carol L. Rafield and Karen E. Sanderson; and brothers Ronald L. Black and Michael D. Black.
She was preceded in death by daughter Marie L. Rafield and brother Robert E. Black.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2015 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 5309 N. U.S. 41 in Apollo Beach. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite charity.
Thomas Randle Kay
Thomas Randle Kay, 92, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on August 14, 2015. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret and his sister Dorothea Phillips, and he is survived by two nieces, Jane Mikalsky (husband Stephen) and Susan Brading (husband Andrew).
Born in Manchester, England, Thomas served in the British military during World War II, and graduated from Manchester Commerce College after his military service. He was a member of the British Institute of Marketing and Management.
At Tappan Industries, he held the position of General Manager for International Sales and was relocated to the Mansfield, Ohio, office in 1970; there he became Director of International Operations, and he retired as Vice President of non-domestic operations in 1987.
He and Margaret spent their final years together in Sun City Center. One of Tom’s favorite expressions in life was, “Is there anything I can do for you?”, which characterized his kind and generous nature. Always a gentlemen, Tom will be missed by many. A family memorial and celebration of Tom’s life will be held in England.
Mary Lauck
Mary Lauck, age 98, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on August 21, 2015.
Mary graduated from Smith College in 1927, and raised her three children with her first husband, John Willard, in Syracuse, N.Y., moving to Sun City Center in 1981.
Mary played an active role in her civic, social and business communities, bringing her belief that the glass was always “half full” and the party “always on.” Mary was well-loved and will be deeply missed by many.
She is survived by Judith Mietz of Creede, Colo.; John Willard of Chesterfield, N.H.; and Elizabeth Ketchuck of Lebanon, Pa.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held later in Creede, Colo.

Earl C. Osewalt
Earl C. Osewalt, 77, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on August 22, 2015.
Earl was born in Philipsburg, Pa. He served eight years in the U.S. Air Force, and was retired from the General Motors Tonawanda Engine Plant.
He was predeceased by son Robert A Osewalt; brother Wm. Boyd Herbert; and sister Gertrude A Harpster.
Survivors include Shirley (Litzinger) Osewalt, his wife of 25 years; sons James C. Osewalt and Ronald D. Osewalt; stepsons George (Peggy) Kunch and Brian Kunch; stepdaughter Jennifer (Dean) Swanson; granddaughter Crystal (Tim) Ollam; great-granddaughter Nicole Ollam; nine step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; brothers Thomas Vaughn and George Herbert; and sisters Molly (JR) Hockenberry, Ginger Way and Lora (Joe) Mariotti.
Earl received a heart and kidney transplant in Birmingham, Ala., in February 2003. We are very grateful to the donor family who helped to extend his life by many years.

‘Buddy’ Sheldon Surloff
“Buddy” Sheldon Surloff passed away on August 25, 2015. Sheldon was born on May 20, 1945, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and lived the majority of his life in Miami and Pembroke Pines, Fla. After retiring, he moved to Sun City Center, where he lived for nine years and pursued his passion for golf, cruising around in his beloved Steelers golf cart.
He was the son of the late Ruth and Kenneth Surloff. He is survived by daughter Gayle Borgen and son-in-law Jeffrey Borgen; grandchildren Jada and Garrett Borgen; friend Carol; and siblings Stan Surloff, Alan Surloff and Barbara Gainsford; in addition to extended family and friends.

Michael C. Raff
Michael C. Raff, 74, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away suddenly on August 22, 2015, while hiking in the Hillsborough River State Park.
Mike was born in Neptune, N.J., the son of Charles H. and Helen Marie Raff. He grew up in Little Silver, N.J., was a graduate of Red Bank High School and Monmouth College, and later obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Maryland. He served in the New Jersey National Guard from 1965 to 1973. He worked as Certified Public Accountant, auditor and Certified Financial Planner in private industry before moving to Maryland, where he taught business and accounting at Prince George’s Community College for years. He retired in 2000, moving to Sun City Center.
Michael is survived by long-time friend and companion Dr. Constance Grant; sister Mary Potter and her husband John; nephew Lt. John W. Potter and his wife Sara; niece Susanna Potter; nephew Charles Potter, his wife Helen and their son James; and by stepmother Amely Patricia Elliott.
Michael loved the outdoors and was an active member of the Sierra Club and Freedom Boat Club. He was also an organizer and leader of Sun City Center bicycle, kayaking and hiking clubs. In lieu of flowers, memorial Mass may be said at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
A Memorial Service was held Aug. 28 at Sun City Center Funeral Home.
