The Diego Duran Apollo Beach Skatepark on Golf and Sea Boulevard got into the Father’s Day spirit on Sunday with a skateboard competition (for the children, not the fathers, perhaps fortunately for a few hips, elbows and knees).
The event included free hot dogs and a father-and-son look-alike contest. Prizes were awarded for skateboarding skills in four age groups.
The skate park is located at 664 Golf and Sea Blvd. and is open to all residents with a course designed to suit every skater from beginner to advanced.
