Karin Robertson Kemker
Karin Robertson Kemker entered into the kingdom of her Heavenly Father on May 21, 2015. Her devotion to family and firm faith supported her in her illness and ultimately gave her peace as she went home.
Karin was born in Seymour, Ind., on May 20, 1938, to Fred and Mabel Robertson. She was married to Paul Kemker on Feb. 16, 1958. And she used to live on Treasure Island. She lovingly supported Paul through investment in Bringe Music and as owners of Kemker Insurance. She cited her greatest accomplishment the raising of three lovely ladies and nurturing them to care for others. She had a great ability to pay attention to detail so that everyone felt “special,” either through a handwritten note, an “un”birthday, planning a wedding or finding them a job at the thrift store.
She is survived by her mother, husband, daughters, sons-in- law, siblings, the grandsons she cherished and adored, and extended friends and family.
A celebration of Karin’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 28, at Ruskin United Methodist Church. Memorial donations in memory of Karin may be made to Ruskin United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.
Arleen W. (Stegenga) Osborn
1915-2015
On May 18, 2015, Arleen W. Osborn, daughter of Herbert B. and Sadie A. (Seiswerda) Stegenga, sister of Clarence, Herbert “Bud”, and Irving (all deceased), passed peacefully into Heaven at her home in Sun City Center, Fla.
Arleen loved life and family, and life and family loved her. She lived life to the fullest. Her sense of humor and fondness for crazy hats endeared her to all who knew her.
Arleen and her beloved husband Howard (deceased 2002) spent 35 years in the Panama Canal Zone, he as a senior engineer and she as an administrator. Arleen was also an accomplished artist, with one of her paintings on display in the Panama Canal Zone Headquarters.
Arleen was a longtime member of The Order of the Eastern Star, and Past Matron of the Pedro Miguel Chapter, Canal Zone, and Pilgrim Chapter 55, Nashua, N.H.
A wonderful poet, Arleen would keep us in stitches with her annual Christmas poems recapping the previous year.
Arleen traveled extensively. They began with a VW bus camper and progressed to ever-larger Winnebago Motorhomes and were active members of the Winnebago Travelers Club. Arleen enjoyed swimming and bicycling. She drove her three-wheel cycle for more than an hour each day and swam well into her 99th year. She simply inspired all who knew her to enjoy life and extend love to others. She was loved and will be missed. Heaven will be a more exciting place with Arleen there. As she would say with a giggle: “Ninety-Nine and Doing Fine!”
Arleen lovingly leaves behind her two children: son James B. Osborn Sr. and wife Maria, Charlton, Mass.; and son “Lucky” Dick Douglas and wife Cheryl, Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren James B. Osborn Jr., Valerie M. Osborn, Victoria J. Boucher and Vanessa H. George; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend of more than 80 years: Kay Miller of Sun City Center.
A memorial gathering at Hope Cemetery in Worcester, Mass., will be announced at a later date. Contributions in memory of Arleen can be made to: The First Church of Nashua, UCC, 1 Concord St., Nashua, NH 03064.
In Loving Memory
Todd LeRoy Overholt
11-11-1970 – 5-23-2013
Our heart is full of memories,
With pride we speak your name.
Though life goes on without you
It will never be the same.
We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone;
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
Your love is still our guide;
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same;
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
We love and miss you so much,
Dad, Mom, Amy and Wendy
