Dear Editor,
Thank you for your article regarding the Consumers Affairs Committee [May 22, 2014]. I was astounded at the way the committee was treated by the board of directors of the Community Association at the end of their meeting eight days ago.
I have been a member of the community for 36 years and I cannot believe the lack of professionalism of the board and the manager — and the president had the nerve to say, “What we are doing is taking a professional approach”!!!! Professional? I think not! There is no excuse for treating the committee the way they did.
As a homeowner here for 34 years (I now reside at the Courtyards), we used the Consumers Affairs committee a few times and were always satisfied with the results and am grateful to the committee for functioning well for 26 years. Chuck Collett should be ashamed of the way he handled the letter sent to him — he ignored it.
I am sorry I was not at the board meeting but will do my best to attend the future meetings. The members of the Consumer Affairs committee deserve an apology and gratitude for their serving so many years.
