Nerdwallet.com, a personal financial website, has named Riverview as the third best place in Florida for jobs. The website described the community as having a 260.9 percent population increase between 2008 and 2011 with a median household income of $67,298 and having nearly 71 percent employment. According to Nerdwallet, jobs in education assistance, health care, social services, finance, insurance, real estate and renting and leasing are the primary growth industries in the community.
Neighboring Valrico topped Riverview with a second place rating and an average household income of $76,016. Many of the growth industries were the same, although the website stated Valrico growth industries also included professional, scientific, and management and administrative services.
Another Bay Area city, Wesley Chapel, came in first place with Fruit Cove, near Jacksonville, Cooper City and Weston in the Miami area, Oviedo near Orlando, Doral near Miami, Wellington in Palm Beach County and Coral Springs in Broward County rounding out the top ten.
