Calvary Lutheran Church’s brand new Angel Attic thrift store is now open for business, serving the people of South Hillsborough. To celebrate this new era for the ministry, Calvary held a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for the Angel Attic on Sunday, Sept. 8 at its location at 1480 East College Ave. in Ruskin. The event also included a re-dedication of the adjacent Community Cupboard food pantry.
Construction for the new 4,000- square-foot building began in February 2013 and is the result of a generous and supportive congregation, contracting partners, and countless hours of work from some key Calvary members and volunteers. The store offers gently used clothing, accessories, décor, household goods, furniture, and more. Hours of operation are 9 a.m.- noon on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Donations of any type are always gratefully accepted during those hours.
Proceeds from Angel Attic go towards the purchase of food to stock the Community Cupboard, serving hundreds of local families every week. The Angel Attic construction represents phase 1 of what will ultimately be the new Calvary Lutheran Church Mission Center. For more information, see www.CalvaryLutheranChurch.net.
