The City of Tampa has long struggled in its relationship with public art, considered one of the hallmarks of an urban lifestyle. Money, of course, has always been an issue as the public art budget in Tampa is considered small in comparison to similar-sized and larger cities.
One solution has been murals, highlighted by the recent completion of Ruskin artist Michael Parker’s 12,000 square foot mural on Adamo Drive, entitled America Journey, created with community support.
