For the Mary & Martha House, South County’s only organization providing a shelter and training opportunities for homeless and abused women and their children, every dollar not spent on administrative expenses is an extremely valuable dollar that can be used towards their goal of protecting and providing opportunities for women in rough circumstances.
Enter the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a Catholic service group from Sun City Center, who volunteered to pressure wash the offices of the Mary & Martha House in Ruskin. The group has also committed to performing other activities for the organization throughout the year. The Hiberians will also be adopting a room at one of the shelters, providing what is needed. “President Jim Harkins said whatever we need, just let them know,” said Jan Falcione of the Mary and Martha House.
Pressure washing a building is, perhaps, a seemingly small task but it pays big rewards in allowing funds to be used for a much higher purpose. The Mary & Martha House depends entirely upon community support. For information about how you can help, visit www.marymarthahouse.org.
