The weather was Florida perfect as an estimated 10,000 people turned out for the 21st annual Manatee Festival of the Arts in Apollo Beach last weekend.
The event included a juried art show, art, jewelry and crafts for sale, a children’s crafts area in conjunction with the Firehouse Cultural Center, some of the best in local food, and nonstop entertainment, the latter of which began with the Doby Elementary Little Kid’s Rock Band on the main stage.
Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandra Murman also presented a certificate of commendation to the SouthShore Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the annual event.
“We are always happy when we can bring our community together with an event like this and especially when people from other areas come down and see what the SouthShore community is all about,” said Melanie Morrison, executive director of the SouthShore Chamber.
