The 24th annual Ruskin Seafood Festival took place last weekend under picture-perfect Florida skies, with thousands of people from around the Tampa Bay area visiting E.G. Simmons Park for the biggest event in South Hillsborough. Seemingly larger every year, the festival included a wide variety of vendors serving seafood and other specialty foods, an arts and crafts show, a boat show, a children’s activity area featuring Jumbo the Clown, live entertainment on the main stage, a wide variety of South Hillsborough-related vendors and “hands on” educational exhibits including a walk-through interactive bus from Mosaic and greyhounds up for adoption from area greyhound rescue and adoption organizations. Next year’s festival is now less than a year away, visit www.ruskinseafoodfestival.org for more information.
