Janet E. Goncalves
Janet E. Goncalves, 89, resident of Kings Point, Sun City Center, Florida, died April 19, 2012 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Frederick and Rose (Laeng) Rettinger, and was born and raised in Norwalk, Ohio with her identical twin sister Joyce, and younger brother, Fred.
After graduating from St. Paul’s High School (‘41) and Sandusky Business College, she worked at Defense plants in California. In 1945 she met and wed two weeks later the love of her life Charles Goncalves, a Marine stationed in San Diego. They were married 53 years until his death in 1999.
Residents of Western MA they lived in Springfield, Westfield and Feeding Hills, and wintered in Sarasota for many years before moving to Sun City Center in 1997. During their marriage they enjoyed traveling, especially with their camping friends in the Fun Addicts, and toured the country with Joyce and her husband after Charles’ retirement. Janet enjoyed oil painting, cooking, decorating and dancing, and was a devout member of the Prince of Peace Church.
Janet is survived by her sister Joyce; daughter, Jerelyn and husband Richard Hamel of Blandford, MA; daughter, Candis Rose, also of MA; grandchildren Thomas and Justin Hamel, Genevieve Rose and Jeffrey Hugabonne, and two great grandchildren.
There was a Memorial Mass on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Church, Sun City Center, FL
Mary Pauline “Polly” Noland
Sun City Center, FL –- Memorial service for Mary Pauline “Polly” Noland, 90, will be, Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sun City Center, FL.
Mrs. Noland died on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab Services in Sylacauga, AL.
Mrs. Noland was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Edward Noland. She was a member of the Sun City Center Women’s Club and the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Burris Noland, wife Linda; daughter, Kathleen Noland Vought, husband David; grandsons, Robert Burris Noland II, wife Tiffany, Robert David Vought, wife Jennifer and Matthew Noland Vought, wife Leigh; great-grandson, Robert Edward Vought; great-granddaughters, Reilly O’Neal Vought, Caroline Cleary Vought and Mary Lacy Vought.

Born and raised in Ruskin one of original founding families of Ruskin (The Sweeneys). Excavating contractor for 50 years and a cattleman for 40. He retired in 2005 to grow orchids and his garden.
Predeceased by his daughter Sheila survived by his wife Cora (Betty), 4 daughters; Donna, Ashley (David), Nicki and Patti, 2 sisters; Irene Springer, S.Carolina and Joyce (Ken) Davis, Ruskin. 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and multiple nieces and nephews.
