Bernice A. Cocco
Bernice A. Cocco, 74, of Sun City Center, Fl, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at her residence. Born in Norwalk, Ct, on April 7, 1937, Bernice was a retired Sales Clerk and was Roman Catholic by Faith. Bernice volunteered at South Bay Hospital at the out patient desk. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Leonard and a daughter, Linda (Jim) Noll of Scott City, KS.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, Fl.
Dennis Akers
Dennis Akers, 60, of Apollo Beach, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at a local hospital after a very courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Norfolk General Hospital, October 28, 1951, to Ernest O. Akers, Sr. and Anna P. Akers. He is survived by his wife, Karen Akers, of Apollo Beach; his brother, Ernest O. Akers, and wife, Sherry of Virginia Beach, Va.; his brother Rick and his wife Margaret of Norfolk, Va.; his sister Gloria Jean Harris and her husband Shane of Brooksville, FL; his son, Dennis Wayne Akers, Jr. and his wife Allison of Virginia Beach, Va.; his daughter, Tammy Allison of Tacoma, WA.; his grandson, Brian P. Akers of Tacoma, WA., and his granddaughter, Hailey Kay Akers, of Virginia Beach, VA.; nieces, Kristy Harris and Shana Chesser of Brooksville, FL., Karen Skees of Norfolk, VA.; nephew Ricky Akers of Norfolk, VA. Also, his father and mother in-law, Harry and Dorris Foradori of Cocoa Beach, FL.; brothers-in-law Mark, Keith, Mike Foradori, and John Parks; and sisters-in-law, Jane Parks, Dawn Willett, Debbie Richards, and Alice Foradori.
Dennis was born and raised in Norfolk, where he attended high school. He later served in the Merchant Marines and the United States Air Force. During his career, Dennis worked for several shipbuilding companies including Norfolk Ship Building and Dry-dock, and Tampa Bay Shipbuilding. He was also a consultant for IMIA.
Dennis was a faithful member of Faith Worx Church in Apollo Beach where he served on various ministry teams including Home Life Groups, Feed the Bay, Men’s Bible Study, Lord’s Lighthouse Clothing and Pantry Drive, and other ministries to our local community. He was a very loving husband, father, and loyal friend.
Dennis really enjoyed fishing and golfing; he was a member of Apollo Beach Golf Club, where he played as often as he could. However, fishing was his first love, and he really appreciated fishing on Tony and Pam’s Lake Preserve with family and friends.
Dennis was married to Karen Foradori Akers in 1994, and they lived in Apollo Beach since 2000, with a brief 2 year stay in New Orleans before, during, and after hurricane Katrina.
A Celebration of Life for Dennis was held at Faith Worx, 202 Flamingo Drive, Apollo Beach, on Saturday, February 18, 2012. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a contribution is encouraged to donate to prostate cancer research or prostate cancer support groups.

Angie Davis, 39, passed away on Febuary 19, 2012.
She was born on October 11, 1972. She was from Apollo Beach, FL. She is survived by her son, Devin; her daughters, Crystal and Tamara; grandsons, Aden and Christopher; her mother, Barbara Gardner; sister Melissa; brother, Shawn; 2 grandmothers; a stepfather; two uncles, and her best friend Vicki Selph. We love you and may you rest in peace now baby girl.
