More than 300 people gathered for dinner at the Ruskin Elks Lodge on Sept. 11 to benefit South County resident Cindy-Lou Wood, a victim of violent crime. Ms. Wood remains in recovery and has amassed staggering medical bills. The goal of the fundraiser was to provide financial assistance to help Ms. Wood get back on her feet. Tax deductible donations to help Ms. Wood may be made to St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 705 9th Street SE, Ruskin, FL, 33570. Donations should be noted for the ‘Cindy-Lou Wood Fund’ and made out to the church.
