SIKES, Rose
Rose Irma Bicknell was born January 17, 1918 on a farm in Lafayette County, Wisconsin, to Lester and Nellie Bicknell. On February 15, 2010, she entered into rest unexpectedly but peacefully, in San Ramon, CA at the age of 92. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Eugene in 1997.
When she was three years old, her family moved to Freeport, IL, where she attended school and met Eugene Sikes. On June 20 1942, she married Eugene, in Freeport, where they were long time members of Second Presbyterian Church. When Eugene retired in 1986, they moved to Sun City Center FL where she lived until May 2008. She then moved to San Ramon, CA to be near her daughter and her family.
Rose enjoyed many activities and volunteering in Freeport and in Sun City Center. She especially enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of Sun City Center Community Congregational Church and, for many years enjoyed playing in the hand-bell choir.
Rose is survived by her daughter Carolyn and son-in-law, Leonard Baumann of Pleasanton CA and her son Allan and daughter-in-law, Arvis Jean Sikes of South Bend, IN. She leaves two granddaughters, Julie Rieth and Michelle Baumann and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Wilma Stephan of Freeport and Wilma’s children.
Interment will be at Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens, in Freeport at a later date.
TREMBLAY, Dorothy C.
Dorothy Cicely Tremblay, nee Cartwright, died peacefully on February 23rd at the age of 88, at Winchester Hospital, MA. She was the daughter of the late Eric Cartwright and Cicely Cartwright Jenner, nee Isgar; beloved wife of the late Peter Vilmont Tremblay for 59 years; mother of Joan D. Caulkins and her husband, Dean, of Forestdale, MA; and Gillian C. Capuccio and her husband, Donald, of Medford, MA; sister of the late Howard G. Cartwright of Montreal, Quebec; step-sister of the late Beth Jenner and Leonard Jenner, both of Burlington, Ontario; grandmother of Dean T. Caulkins, Jr., Robert P. Caulkins, and Emily T. Capuccio; and great-grandmother of Casey Caulkins, Anna Caulkins, and Madelyn Caulkins.
Dorothy was a homemaker and lived the first part of her life in Montreal, Quebec, before moving to Hingham, MA with her husband, Peter, in 1959. Dorothy and Peter spent their retirement years between Yarmouthport, MA and Sun City Center, FL. Her many accomplished talents included knitting, sewing, crocheting, and bunka.
She was a member of St. John the Episcopal Church in Hingham, MA and St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Ruskin, FL.
A memorial service was held at Grace Church in Medford, MA, on February 26. Burial will follow at a later date in Montreal, Quebec.

HAMMAR, Karl Peter
Karl Peter Hammar died February 22, 2010. He was born March 10, 1968. Karl is survived by his daughter Kari Ann, her mom Kara; parents Robert and Carol Hammar; brother. Bobby; sisters Lori Lee and Marci Retherford; companion, Robin; and many relatives.
Karl was a friend to all and will be loved and missed. A celebration of life will take place at 11 a.m. March 7 at EJ. Sirnmons Park, Unit 14, Ruskin, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements were made by Zipperers.
MORRILL, Hoyt Earl
Hoyt Earl Morrill, 76, Wimauma, FL, entered Heaven in a parade of glory Saturday evening. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of 55 years; one son, Hoyt Howard Morrill; one daughter, Kim Newberry (Donnie); one granddaughter, Ashley-Moylan Jasczak (Jason); one sister, Lorena Jaeb; one brother, Clinton Morrill; many nieces, nephews, friends and mission team members.
Earl’s heart’s desire was sharing the salvation of Jesus Christ with everyone he came in contact with. His crowns are many to lay at the feet of Jesus. Visitation is Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Service is Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Sun City Center Funeral Home, Sun City Center, FL.

DAIL, Pete Jr.
Pete Dail Jr., 73, of Ruskin, Fla., went into the arms of angels February 6, 2010, at the James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa. Born in Snow Hill, N.C., he lived 46 years in Ruskin. He was owner of Dail’s Texaco and later Dail Farms. Pete served in the Air Force Air Police during the Korean War as a top secret courier, traveling all over the world.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Pastor Shirley Dail; sons, Pete Dail III (Beverly) and Randall Dail (Michele); grandchildren, Dustin (Desira), Matthew, Sarah, Koby and Logan Dail; great-grandson, Cooper Blue Dail; siblings, Earlene Sugg, Grace Murphrey, Bobby Dail, Delna Dail and Ralph Dail, all of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Betty Tarwater; many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a loving church family. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Dail Sr.; mother, Rosa Mae Rouse Dail; and brother, William Dail of North Carolina.

POTTER, Anna Marie
Anna Marie Potter born in Tampa March 4, 1979 passed away February 13, 2010 in Ruskin. She leaves behind four children and a loving family.
Memorial service was held Feb. 17, 2010 at New Beginnings Fellowship.
RIFE, Dana Lynn
Dana Lynn Rife left this world unexpectedly and prematurely on February 6, 2010 peacefully in her sleep. Dana was a lover of life and living for the moment. She shunned material objects and instead placed value on relationships with her family, many friends and beloved pets.
Dana was born in Chicago, Illinois on Dec. 21, 1959 to Elaine and Ernest McReynolds. She spent her formative years in Evansville, IN. and her later life in sunny Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by two siblings, Darlene Shotwell (married to John Shotwell and mother of Robbie, David, Cory and Amber Fisher of Evansville, IN. ) and Daryl McReynolds (previously married to Becky Dill and father of Carl and Kyle McReynolds, also of Evansville, IN.). She has one daughter Michelle Lynn White (formally Cody), of Portland Oregon. Michelle and her husband Randy recently brought Dana a grandchild, Charlotte Ainsley White, born Nov. 13, 2009. Dana visited Charlotte in December and adored her.
Dana also leaves her partner and husband of the last 13 years, Steven Rife of Tampa, Fl and a plethora of loving friends and coworkers from B & M Precision in Ruskin, FL. where she was employed in quality control.
Though Dana has left this earthly plane of existence her spirit lives on in the hearts and memories of all who had the pleasure to know her. FAULKNER, Betty A.
Betty A. Faulkner, 84 of Sun City Center, passed away at her home, February 11, 2010.
Born in Arma, Kansas, Betty along with her beloved husband moved to Tampa from Mt. Vernon, Mo. in 1966. Betty worked at many jobs in her life, but most enjoyed teaching kindgarten and elementary school children. Betty was a member of the Eastern Star primarily in Missouri. She also gave countless volunteer hours to Meals on Wheels, Red Cross and Memorial Hospital in the Tampa, Fl.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim, just 11 months earlier. After 64 years of marriage they were considered inseparable. Betty and Jim traveled extensively and enjoyed many activities including the Gadabout Club of Sun City Center. Betty is survived by her daughter Jamie Faulkner-Suarez and son-in-law Bob Suarez. There are also surviving great-nephews, great-nieces and their families in Kansas and Missouri.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Sun Towers for their care and compassion in difficult times. Also, thank you to Hospice, Silver team. There will be no memorial services. A private burial was held Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in Clearwater, Florida. The family has requested no flowers; donations may be made to the Sun City Emergency Squad or The United Community Church of Sun City.
