Garage sale fundraiser for boy shot by 'celebratory' gunfire donations accepted this weekend

Donations for the fundraiser will be accepted on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Firehouse Cultural Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Diego Duran, the 12-year-old boy shot by "celebratory" gunfire on New Year's Eve continues to improve, according to updates on the Friends of Diego Duran Facebook page.

A garage sale fundraiser will be held at the Firehouse Cultural Center in Ruskin on January 29 from 9 a.m to 4 p.m.  Donations for the fundraiser will be accepted on Saturday, January 21, at the Firehouse Cultural Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A Facebook page has been created to provide updates on Deigo’s condition.  Within the page there is also an option for people to donate via credit card to help the family with medical and other expenses that have been incurred since the shooting.  The address for that page is: www.facebook.com/friendsofdiegoduran.
