They don’t build them like they used to. Last week’s concrete structure located on Highway 301 at the Little Manatee River awakened some fond memories for many of you. Built as a flood gauge and possibly even part of the original bridge, I am almost certain no one will remember the modern electronic gauge that is strapped to the bridge now.
Strolling down memory lane this week are Kenneth Faulk (a five-cent toll would be a blessing today), Pat Masterson, Fred Jacobsen, Jessie Bush (close enough, what is a folly for?), and Dan Bergschneider. Michele Brennan, Ron Budd, and James “Fish” Bass made a group effort, and must share a point three ways (good job all of you). More history buffs include Sam Baldwin, Jason Simmons (did Sam help you?), Mark Wozniak, and Robin Greenwood (you are spot on with where and what, good luck with the new digs).
Bringing the last cow in from the pasture parking of two weeks ago are Joe Eletto (I see your mind works like mine) and Tammy Berry (very curious indeed, but fun).
Every little boy dreams of this. If his dream comes true, where in South Hillsborough is he?
