Here kitty, kitty, kitty!  The king of the beasts is alive and well in south Hillsborough, well sort of.  Last week’s photo of the great beast sitting on top of Starr Galaxy Self Storage on Highway 301 just north of Big Bend Road is a real eye catcher.  It appears there is a bit of history in Leo the Lion’s past. 

According to R.H. (thanks for the guess, keep the trivia coming), Leo started life in the 1970’s in Apollo Beach on the front lawn of a house, making the move to his current spot in the 1980’s.  

Claudia Alvarez-Lang also knows right where the king lives, as well as Dan Bergschneider and daughter, Renee Bergschneider.  No collaborating on this one, I spoke to the Bergschneiders at different times in separate rooms.  More lion tamers include Michele Brennan (oh my indeed), who also receives kudos for recognizing the signs at SCCC, Carolyn Bilberry (great detailed answer, keep up the good work) and Pattie Carlascio (they are nice people and thanks for playing).
