What a Wonderful Day

It is Sunday evening as I write this. I spent the day with my daughter and her good friend. Her friend has become my adopted sister. Both are terrific ladies.
Sunday in St. Petersburg was the 2nd Annual Asian Pacific Rim Festival. I had the most wonderful time. The different foods and the folk dancing were really nice.
Many booths were set up to display the pride of all of these different countries. Customs and crafts were proudly on display and for sale to the public.

  Everyone was so happy and  willing to answer any questions, and of course introduce you to all the exotic flavors from their homelands. I am quite adventurous. The foods were interesting and very tasty. Since my adventures in China, I have not been afraid to try anything.

There was a stage set up, with a number of different cultures providing entertainment with the authentic dances and music from each place. The costumes were beautiful and of course the ladies were stunning as well.

I have friends from many parts of Asia, and this day I had the opportunity to watch a lady friend from Thailand perform a native folk dance dressed in the authentic style. It was a pleasure to watch and enjoy the enthusiastic performances.

Sunday was one of my most enjoyable Sundays that I have spent in a long time. Of course spending time with my daughter is always at the top of my list, but this day had more!

We are fortunate to live in a country that allows many cultures to showcase their pride. That is what being an American is about. Honoring our heritage and sharing in the honor of others. In our diversity we find great unity.

I am proud to say: My “View From The Road” was international, but still American today.
