(www.observernews.net) View From the Road
Last week I went to Sebring to deliver some computer components to the Highlands County Property Appraiser. The next stop was to the airport, also where the Sebring Sports car Race is held. I was delivering a helicopter rotor and I was excited! These loads are always interesting. Normally I would return to U.S. 27 and head north to make my next stop. The next delivery was in Winter Haven, so I had some choices. I came up from the airport into downtown Sebring and selected C.R. 17 to go back north. The journey was scenic and very little traffic. No traffic lights to slow me down like I would have experienced from Sebring through Avon Park on U.S. 27. C.R. 17 bypassed all of that and placed me just north of Avon Park. What a beautiful ride. I saved probably thirty minutes and cut about twenty five miles off the mileage, saving time and fuel. Best of all the “View” was great. Life has often given me choices like a path that looks a little rough. When I come to these intersections I have learned to take these rougher paths most times. I am not sure why, but the experiences along these paths broaden my perspective and my patience. Often I don’t realize what I learned until sometime later. I must admit, sometimes I get a few scrapes and scratches going in, but at the journey’s end I feel refreshed and wiser. I am grateful that God has given me this sense of adventure. My “Views From The Road” is more fun this way. © Copyright 2008 by The Observer News Publications and M&M Printing |
