View From the Road
The Days Go Faster

 This week passed by so ­quickly. From week to week with my ­increasing age I notice this more and more. I don’t mind it so much, I just try to adjust.

My adventures are different now that I have moved back to Hillsborough County. They are still interesting, but not so far away. I believe that the short trips tend to make the days go faster.

Last week I traveled down to Desoto County. Arcadia is an inter­esting town. The type of folks I deliver to has changed too. Residential and small business is most of what I do.

My adventure south proved to be really pleasant. Country folks seem to take the edge off of the day. Smiles and a howdy come real easy as I make my way from place to place. The scenery is nice also. Well-kept yards with plenty of ­flowers peek through onto the streets. It is nice to see how the urban and country lifestyles have blended into a comfortable place for these folks to call home.

When I go from town to town I also enjoy the relaxed traffic. At the end of the day, I am moving back into the hectic streets of eastern Hillsborough County and Tampa. When my day ends I park my truck just north of Tampa International Airport, facing the rush hour traffic as I make my way home. Tomorrow may bring adventures in Clear­water, Tampa, and who knows where. I like the mystery. At least I am home every night. The diversity of places is a welcome change.
I try different routes home, looking for that perfect path to relaxation. So far, the comparisons have not netted that special trail.

When I pull into my driveway I know that my “View From The Road” will be starting all over again tomorrow.
