From The Observer News
(www.observernews.net) View From the Road I want to write about a friend of mine who lives in Australia. Friend isn’t a good description; brother is more appropriate.
It was my good luck that I had a chance to meet him and his wife. For part of the time I was there he and I spent time talking and going places. The more we were together the more we knew that we were meant to meet. We share many of the same values and attitudes about life. We genuinely liked each other and bonded quickly.
On the other side of the world two men meet in a different country and culture and immediately bond. I could not have asked for a greater gift. Since our meeting each day we share emails, some just forwards of interesting material and others are more personal. We share with each other family events, work and just talk about what brothers talk about. He has the greatest sense of humor, just like mine. When I am feeling down, invariably, he comes through with just the email to bring my spirits up. He came into my life just when I needed him. He entered about eight months before my brother Bob died. It was nice to call on my brother Bob from Australia to help me through my loss. I always know that I can count on him and I hope he knows that I will be there for him too. Every day I go to my internet mailbox eager to see what he has sent me. I am never disappointed. One day I will see him again, but until then I will be happy to call him brother and share emails. I am proud to call Bob Geary from “OZ” my brother and my friend. God has bestowed many blessings on me, and I have to say that he is one of the greatest. My “View From The Road” has more heart because of my good brother and friend. © Copyright 2008 by The Observer News Publications and M&M Printing |
