View From the Road
Living within our means

With the new year stretched in front of us and a new President sworn in, we have much to look forward to. I know that I look for the promised good times ahead.
The last several months things have been left in a state of indifference. Actions have not been taken and many folks decided to wait for the new administration to be in power before any progress was pushed for. Well, I am ready for the changes to get under way.

Being a realistic man, I realize the chances for any dramatic improvements to take place soon are unlikely. The country needs a boost in confidence. I am not sure that another economic stimulus package is the answer. We have been using Band-Aids for some time now. I doubt that they will help much now either. I would like to see an approach to getting our spending under control. “Living within our means,” that was my Dad’s advice. The practical methods may still be the best.
I am confident someone will come up with a new idea that will bring the spark our economy needs. In the past we have come through some rough times. We have the minds and the spirit that it will take. We need to dust off the old pride and get back to work.

I will be looking and listening for the thunder of change headed our way. In the meantime, I will do my best to keep my end of the challenge going by being as productive and effective as I can. Each day I will accept the challenges and strive for the best effort. I hope that if we all do this and support our new president we will all have a more pleasant “View From The Road.”
