View From the Road
 The air is fresh after a nice June shower. The traffic is light and moving nicely. My trip to South Florida was under way.
When possible I like to leave on my trip early, so that I am not running too close on time. I enjoy the trips better this way and it also gives me the opportunity to see more on the way.
Down U.S. 27 through central Florida I go. I like traveling this route, there is a feeling of calm that prevails over taking the interstate highway system.
Each time I travel down U.S. 27 I get to see new things. The building and the progress seem to be continuing, but at a slower pace. That suites me just fine.
My nighttime travels are filled with new images of wildlife. Below Lake Placid there are some remaining stretches of wilderness. I keep looking to see a Black Bear. They have crossing caution signs, but I have not seen one yet. The lonely sections of the highway are refreshing sites for me. After all Florida should remain somewhat natural.
From Moore Haven south the highways always give my windshield a large supply of bugs. That area has many canals and bodies of water along the highway. Sometimes I must stop several times to clean off the windshield. They are a part of nature and I don’t mind this. It tells me that nature is still out there.
We forget that each species of bug and wildlife performs a function, although pesky, they are needed and necessary. I have discovered that my noninterference with nature is a good thing. We all have a reason to be here, so tolerance is hope. When we are threatened by nature we are about to throw it off balance with change.
I just want to fit into the master plan.
Traveling through this state and taking notice to nature has given me an insightful, “View From The Road.”
