(www.observernews.net) View From the Road
I worked on Friday after Thanksgiving Day and that was ok. I am not going to face shopping or the confusion that goes on that day. Work was busy enough. I had many deliveries to residential customers that had done their shopping on the internet. Waiting with open arms, the people were all happy to receive their purchases hand delivered to their door. I spent the day just south of Ruskin in Manatee and Sarasota counties. The driving was easy. A quick side trip to Ft. Myers was included and then back to Tampa. A day off in the middle of the week is nice, but getting started back to work for one day was a little difficult. The entire day I just couldn’t seem to adjust to remember what day of the week it was. By the time it was over, I was totally confused. Who knows what Monday will be like? I have decided what all my purchases for Christmas will be, so the tough part is over. Now I will try to shop online and make short trips to the appropriate shops to complete my shopping. I have told all my friends and family what I want for Christmas. It is simple. A card will be nice, with a true sentiment. Time together, even if it is only for lunch or a quick cup of coffee. I have everything I need and when I want something I buy it myself. I love to give gifts, but receiving them seems not so important. I have received all the greatest gifts in my family and friends. I review them in my mind like opening photo files on my computer. My memory is still good and my hard drive still seems to have a great capacity. I can carry it with me and I don’t have to pull off to the side of the road to enjoy it. Good and happy times are ahead for me, of this I am sure. Each and every day is Christmas for me. When I wake up, a new gift is unwrapped and the pleasures of life give me a wonderful “View From The Road.” © Copyright 2008 by The Observer News Publications and M&M Printing |
