From The Observer News
(www.observernews.net) View From the Road It is Sunday once again. Looking at the week in review, I see many things that I could write about.
Today as I pulled into my driveway, a sense of contentment came over me. I realized I made a choice that would conserve fuel and I could still go to the places that I wanted.Other riders, I am sure, feel the same way. I was amazed as the driving rain came down how many riders passed by with a friendly wave. As each one passed, I felt good that in such adverse conditions everyone managed to remain cheerful. The independence that driving and going where you want is truly part of our American culture. Open highways and the ability to travel them freely is an important part of our lives. I am certain that presented with the challenges that our driving public faces the seeds of ingenuity have been planted and new ideas will come to harvest soon. The imagination of the American mind only needs stimulated to produce the answers needed to solve our energy problems. My “View From The Road” may be filled with raindrops on my helmet face shield, but clearly I see hope in the future. I will keep riding and looking, and soon I hope to see answers to the high gas prices. © Copyright 2008 by The Observer News Publications and M&M Printing |
