That’s no exception for Tampa’s Amazing Race fans. This season’s contestants include 2000 Riverview High school and UCF graduate, Brian Kleinschmidt and his wife, Miss America 2004, Ericka Dunlap. Brian is the son of Ruskin residents Kevin and Ellen (former Hillsborough County teacher of the year) Kleinschmidt.
Brian and Ericka (TEAM YELLOW) are excited to be the first married interracial team on The Amazing Race. They have a singular game plan in mind ~~to win over the hearts and minds of the Amazing Race audience by proving that true love is color blind. They compare their relationship to the Yin Yang symbol, which represents the philosophy of two total opposites coming together as one to accomplish a common goal.
Will Brian’s charm and communication skills be the key to this team’s triumph? Does Ericka have what it takes to shatter the stereotypes of a Miss America Beauty Queen and get down and dirty in the trenches. Though some may see Brian and Ericka as total opposites, they believe that their differences are actually their greatest strength and will propel them around the world all the way to the finish line.
