Maurice S. Galbreath
Maurice S. Galbreath, 86, of Sun City Center passed away October 1, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Duffany) Galbreath; three daughters, Wendy Chandler and Tammy O’MaIly and husband Tommy of Bisbee, AZ; Julie Louden and husband Kirk of Houston, TX; a son, Michael Galbreath ofNashville, TN; several grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa; a brother, Gordon; and a sister, Shirley.
He was born in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Victor and Sadie (Watson) Galbreath and attended schools in Covert, Three Rivers and S. Haven, MI. He graduated from Albion College with a degree in Business and Economics. He was an Eagle Scout and was a leader for 25 years. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy during WWII, attaining the rank of Radioman First Class. He retired in 1983 as head of the Unemployment Tax Division for the State of Vermont. He enjoyed his retirement years tending his Christmas tree farm and hunting and fishing brook trout with Vermont friends.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends. His cremated remains will be interred in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at the convenience of the family.

Carole Jean H. Jones
Carole Jean H. Jones, 71, passed away October 9, 2008 at her residence in Apollo Beach.
A lifelong 7th generation Ruskinite, she owned and operated Ruskin Fuel and Farm Supply for 37 years, and she loved to paint and play the piano.
She is survived by two daughters Pamela Jones-Wade of Tampa; Christal Gambrell of Apollo Beach; three sons, Mallie Dukes, III and John Jones of Apollo Beach; Edward Jones III of St. Petersburg; a sister, Winnona Shepherd of Floral City, FL; three brothers, Dooley Houghtaling, Old Sun City; Vernon Houghtaling, Sarasota and Dan Houghaling of Iowa and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Apollo Beach Community Church in Apollo Beach.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Mary & Martha House in Ruskin.

Geraldine (Gerry) Merrell
Geraldine (Gerry) Merrell, 87, of Ruskin, FL. passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at Hospice House in Sun City Center.
A lifelong resident of the area she was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Elvis; her grandson, Barry; and great-granddaughter Kayea. She loved to fish and garden.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Wilma) and Frederick (Joann); and two daughters, Margaret (Melvin) Sutley and Marlene Stanford; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
The family received friends at Lewers Funeral Home. A graveside service  was at Ruskin Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Lifepath Hospice in Sun City Center.
 Arrangements were made by Lewers Funeral Home.
