Peter “Pete” Gerard Currie

Peter “Pete” Gerard Currie, 65, born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, ­Canada, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 at home in ­Apollo Beach.

He is survived by four sisters, Barbara Waddell of Toronto, Ontario Canada, Bernadette Currie of Sacramento, CA, Ann­Marie Polsonetti of Lynn, MA, and Evelyn Cronin of ­Ajijic, Mexico and many friends who will miss him.

Currie came to the United States in 1957 and resided in Hull, MA until he entered the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army in September of 1962. He served our country for 3 years in Vietnam and was decorated as an expert sharpshooter, marksman and parachutist.

Pete has lived in Tampa area for over 30 years and has resided in Apollo Beach for the past 12 years where he was a popular friend to many. Friends are invited to celebrate Pete’s life on Sunday, April 20 at The Dolphin House, 768 Gran Kayman Way, Apollo Beach, at 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to C.A.R.E. (Critter Adoption and Rescue Effort), 1528 27th St. SE, Ruskin, Florida 33570, in memory of Pete Currie and his beloved dogs, Stealer and Friday.


Charles D. Hamly
Charles D. Hamly, 89, of Sun City Center, passed away on April 11, 2008. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard ­during World War II and ­retired as Vice President of American Bankers Insurance Company.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; one daughter, Charlene; one son, Richard; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home, Sun City Center, FL.


Glorious E. Johnson “Cotton”
Glorious E. Johnson passed away April 10, 2008.

She was survived by her sister Iona Flynn and brother-in-law.
